Our Story

Hi I'm Gabija (Gah-bee-yah). I'm the founder of kai tallow, joyful mother of three, and nature enthusiast. I became fascinated with health and organic food over a decade ago, back when organic was mostly an unknown niche term. This interest led me to a love of cooking, fermenting, foraging, and eventually creating my own beauty products. 

I always used "organic" skin care products, but every product out there was still heavily processed, had long foreign ingredient lists, and ultimately was ineffective. When my dream of becoming a mother came to fruition in 2019 with my first daughter, Kasaia, I became intentional on what I put on my skin. With our skin being the largest organ in our body, I wanted to put only the absolute best on my daughter and myself. Just like I sought out real food, I sought out real skin care. Turns out tallow has been used for thousands of years for all kinds of skin ailments. I gave tallow a try, gave it my own twist, and have never looked back.
